Jungles, waterways and a whole lot of fresh air |
This tour offers a quick and easy escape out of Bangkok and takes you into a neighbouring province filled with lush countryside, hidden away temples that are hundreds of years old, canals and waterways all characterised by a relaxed lifestyle. Visitors are surprised that just a few kilometers out of Bangkok the lifestyle transforms to what it was must have been like a hundred years ago. High rise buildings give way to beautiful old teak houses and traffic jams are replaced by waterways with paddle boats.
This is the perfect "get out of Bangkok for a while" tour and still get back, relaxed, refreshed and in time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city night life.
We meet at 8.45 a.m. at the Just Nok New Office, for a quick bike fitting and briefing before heading out for a day of relaxed cycling.
We start with a leisurely ride over the magnificent Rama 8 bridge before taking little alleyways through an old community.
Once out of Bangkok we are immediately in countryside environment where the first couple of stops are at a meditation temple in the forest and then another temple along the canal. This temple must have been inspired by the story of Noah's Ark.
We continue cycling through the jungle stoping frequenty for photos or to just chat to the locals. After a delicious Thai lunch we continue on to another temple in the forest where you have the opportunity to make your own souviner. The final stop is a near 300 year old temple, overgrown by vines. Following this stop, we head on back to Bangkok this time crossing the river by ferry.
